Location notice

What is recorded. Your phone’s position (with its accuracy), the time, battery level, network type and whether the app is open. Photos you take carry the position at the moment of the photo. While the trip is active, your position is sent to the trip about every 2 minutes for the route line. To time waiting on site, location points are kept on this phone only; just the arrival and departure times they give are added to the trip.

When. Only while a trip you started is active and this app is open on your screen. The reader stops when the trip ends, you change truck or job, or you sign out. Transint cannot read your location when the app is closed. Near a site the app may keep your screen on while it is open, so the visit is timed accurately.

Why. To record that pick-up and delivery happened at the right sites, to time waiting on site, and to show the trip stayed on its route.

Who sees it. Your fleet owner and managers. This trip’s client sees the delivery proof: site arrival and departure times, the route line and whether the location was verified — never the location points kept on this phone. Other drivers cannot see your trips.

How long. The trip record is kept for 7 years, then deleted automatically. The location points kept on this phone are deleted when the trip’s last site visit has been timed, when you sign out, and after 72 hours at most.

Your choice. You may cancel. The trip then won’t start in the app — speak to your fleet manager. Your fleet chose Transint and can see these records. You may ask your fleet owner (the responsible party under POPIA) or Transint's Information Officer (privacy@exluma.co.za) for a copy of your data or a correction. Privacy Policy
